Roberto Candelario Jr was born in Queens, New York and was raised in Carolina, Puerto Rico and partially in the Dominican Republic, then moved to Orlando, Florida in 1989. 7th Poet released his first single "Poet God Glyficz" coached by local producer Tony Payne and managed by Melvin Martinez. His style at the time was ragamuffin mixed with Latin fusion and hip hop. Immediately people of different ethnic backgrounds fell in love with his lyrical ability despite the language barrier.

After 3 years of struggles in making it in the industry he gets his first breakthrough in the music. In 1998 7th Poet gets to feature in Vico C's album release "aquel que habia muerto" which was awarded a Latin Grammy, Premio lo Nuesto and voted one the best rap come backs by the Billboard awards. After this great success he went on to be Vice President of a non profit organization call Iron Sharpens Iron which at the time helped the community by raising awareness through the art of hip hop.

Three years after serving under this great organization, 7th poet's father decides to build a music studio and fulfill his sons dream by funding his first album release call "no era solo un sueño" which means it wasn’t just a dream. Soon 7th Poet was eager to start working in the studio and fulfill what he always wanted to do. With the unyielding support from his family, friends, fans and his personal desire to share his vision with the world he started working on his master piece long hours non stop successfully finishing and making what he always dreamed.

Soon after that he started touring in different parts of the nation including Puerto Rico where 7th Poet started a phenomenon with in the genre and got invited to perform in various venues with some of Puerto Rico's super TV channels and radio Stations across. It was in the island that he got recognized by his unique style and drives to be successful in the music.

In 2003 he was asked to feature with Reggaeton Gospel international artist Funky in his album released "Especie en Peligro" (in danger species) which got nominated in the Latin Grammy’s and people’s choice awards. 7th Poet explosive participation left a marked in Latin American and the United states making his listeners to hear more about this incredible individual.

In 2005 7th Poet is signed by I Records U.S. Latin and starts working on his new self proclaimed album. Do to the efforts of his record label and long time friend Luis Sandoz, 7th Poet embarks in a new face in his music career.

In March 2005 his new album released gets presented in one of the biggest expos in Miami call Expolit 2005 and nominated for best Spanish album of the year by the GMA Awards.

Today 7th poet is know as one of the pioneers of conscious and relevant hip hop and reggaeton and continues to impact the world with his versatile and unique style. His know as one of the God fathers of what is considered Latin gospel hip hop and reggaeton
