On the border by the sea, that is where you’ll find Carlos
Vallejo -Big Los, AKA Gordo Cacheton. Share in this hot new sound
emerging from the southern most part of Texas.
The adventure began in 1977 when a curious boy wandered off
near the Rio Grande River. Living then in Matamoros, Mexico,
the young boy couldn’t help but wonder what lied on the
other side of the cold Rio Grande. Taking his chances and his
life to the other side of the river he began a humble life in
Brownsville. There Big Los took in everything that surrounded
him, the good but most of the time the bad; but especially the
music. It is from these experiences that Carlos Vallejo evolved
into Big Los. For Big Los, the feelings from those experiences
demanded to be expressed through lyric and music.
The mixture of those emotions come charging through his creations
in every track from “Fat like a King” to “Strictly
for my Raza” and even the Colombian sampled track “Sonidero
Pandillero”. His mixture of both English and Spanish lyrics
allows his music to be accepted by radio audiences from Mexican
Regional to Urban Regional to English. Big Los describes his
music as …”The new version of Los Corridos”.
The Choppaholix, (a duo of Houston DJ’s that are featured
every Saturday and Sunday night across Texas) describe Big Los
as …. “quickly becoming a major force in the underground
Hip Hop/Latin Urban Regional circuit. His “Say it as it
is” approach to lyrics makes him a street miracle man.
Big Los gives you real lyrics that’ll “Make a blind
man see”.
Big Los is constantly taking his music to the streets and finding
new audiences for his music from Texas to Monterrey to the west
coast to Chicago, Detroit, all the way to Florida and back to
his querido Matamoros. His travels have allowed Big Los to share
the stage with many of the biggest names in music, Akwid, NB
Ridaz, Ludakris, Master P, Lil Flip, Crooked Stilo, Baby Bash,
just to name a few.
This is Big Los… A big man in a world of little men.
