Heath Nisbett is a Guitarist, Composer, and Music Therapist in the Texas Hill Country area. Heath has studied classical guitar with Ricardo Iznaola and flamenco guitar with Rene’ Heradia. He writes many of his own classical, flamenco, and folk pieces for guitar, including variations of other composers’ music. Recently, he has been experimenting with mixing the styles of classical, flamenco, and folk guitar for an enchanting and unique sound.
Heath’s recording credits include his passionately original song Little Reason To Know on the compilation, NorthWest Passage CD featuring Heath Nisbett along with nine other artists. He also has done several recordings for the University of Colorado on classical guitar. The highlights of these sessions are Variations On A Theme of G.F. Handel by Mauro Giullani and Tarleton’s Resurrection by John Dowland. He has recently been in the studio recording his own material. In this recording are eight originals, ranging from instrumental classical and flamenco guitar to vocal folk rock.
Heath’s performing credits include playing the benefit concert, Northwest Artists for Northwest Homeless at the Carlson Theater in Bellvue, Washington; the 1993 and ’95 Seattle Folklife festival; and performing classical guitar recitals at Colorado State University and at the University of Colorado at Denver. Other venues Heath has performed at include Northwest Vista College of San Antonio, Stella’s Cafe, Colour Me Mine Gallery, Colorado’s Ocean Journey and The Antique Rose Emporium. His very pleasant and soft edged style of guitar playing makes him a perfect addition to many cafes, restaurants, galleries, and private events.
Heath Nisbett attended Colorado State University’s Music School for one year as a performance major in classical guitar. He then transferred to the University of Colorado at Denver, studying Music Business and graduating in 1991. Heath went on to get study Music Therapy at California State University.
