Johnny
Counterfit® was born in Omaha, NE, grew up in Portland, OR. and
started his show business career while performing first in area
nightspots, then state and county fairs, television programs,
concert and corporate venues. In 1986, Counterfit starred in the
Emmy award winning special, Claymation Christmas Celebration,
which broadcast on CBS, and later, the Disney Channel.
In
1990, ABC television in Hollywood, CA called to ask Johnny to
appear on the new America's Funniest People network telecast,
which Counterfit parlayed into subsequent appearances on TBS, FOX
FAMILY, and TNN networks. Moving to Nashville, TN in 1993,
Counterfit has enjoyed tremendous career success with concert
shows at venues throughout the US, including two appearances at
The White House, as a guest on albums with Johnny Cash, George
Jones, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson, as well
as working with Reba McEntire, George Jones, Ricky Skaggs, and
many others, in concert.
Johnny Counterfit continues
appearing on television, broadcast and satellite radio, live
concert venues, and in the studio, producing new albums and
videos, writing and recording his own songs, and comedy
routines.
