BIOGRAPHY:

The Oxford American Dictionary defines tension as "a strained or condition resulting from forces acting in opposition to each other" and "electromotive force". 10sion, born Jose Santana, in taking the term as his rap namesake, effectively fuses these two definitions with a fiery and passionate voice and a delivery that hits your eardrums like a 100 mile per hour ton of bricks.

Born and raised in San Francisco, Daly City Bay Area. Jose Santana 10sion began his rapping career at the tender age of twelve, documenting his life experiences and also of those around him. He drew from a number of influences in creating his unique style, including 2pac, U2, Mana, Big Pun, and his uncle, the legendary guitarist Carlo Santana. Besides his uncle, Jose Santana 10sion has always cherished and appreciated his family/music heritage - having one of Mexico's great violinists as a grandfather (whom he was also named after), and a supportive and talented uncle - Jorge Santana, formerly of Malo. His style has no barriers, as he paints vivid pictures ranging from tragedies in the streets, to rowdy nights drinking and dancing with female counterparts at the club. His unmistakable voice and flow fit the music he raps to like pieces to a puzzle whether in English or Spanish, as he is fluent in both.

Truly Jose Santana A.k.a. 10sion is a complete and well-rounded artist. 10sion has had a notable music career so far, having worked with such industry heavyweights as 2pac's Outlawz, C-Bo, and his uncle Jorge Santana. He has released a total of three solo albums - Lost in the Game (1999), In the Face of Judas (2001), and a self-titled release on Black-N-Brown Entertainment in 2002. Additionally, he has released a group album with long time friend and fellow rap artist Money Stacks as the group "The HardHeadz" titled 80 proof (2003 and a compilation with Errelevent titled "Heaven Made Hell" (2005). Jose Santana A.k.a. 10sion has received radio play on such stations as 106 KMEL and Wild 94.9, where his single went undefeated on a 3-day winning streak in the "Bumrush" new single competition.

Besides his impressive resume of collaborations and album releases, Jose Santana A.k.a. 10sion has also performed with the likes of Rocafella recording artists the Young Gunz, Digital Underground, and Yukmouth of the Luniz/Rap-A-Lot Records. Also, in an effort to provide entertainment for rehabilitating prisoners, Jose Santana has also graced the stage at San Quentin prison. Always active in the studio, Jose is currently hard at work completing a new solo album, to be released later this year, respectively.
