Klave is the harmonious collaboration of Orlando Nunez, Peter
Marrero, Jimi Magnole and Joey Ojeda. The band came together
in the summer of 2001 with a very simple and sincere goal, to
create an authentic blend of hard Rock in Spanish.
All the members are very accomplished musicians and have achieved
significant individual success in the music business. They felt
that they wanted to blend their Rock roots with the Latino heritage.
By the end of 2001 the band developed a very strong set of songs.
Klave attracted the attention of many in the local music scene;
such as, producer-engineer, Ron Taylor, a Grammy Award winner
who is based in South Florida.
From that collaboration "Entre Paredes",
the band's new CD was released. The album is a collection of
9 tracks that showcases the group's incredible talent emphasizing
a true Rock and Roll sound.
The band then started to play the top venues in South Florida,
introducing thier new material to live audiences. The reception
was very positive and Klave started to develop a strong following
of fans.
The songs were added to regular rotation
on 94.9 Zeta's "En
Fuego" radio program. Currently there are 5 cuts from the CD "Entre
Paredes" being played on rotation at the radio show. The most
requested songs are "Sin Ti", a power ball ballad and "Hijo Macho",
an all out rock anthem.
In October, 2003 the band competed with
some of the best rock bands and won 94.9 Zeta's, "Mac Donald's, Lo Maximo De la Musica";
battle of the bands contest. On November 15 th of the same year,
Klave played at Miami's James L. Knight center with several national
and international Spanish rock groups like Molotov, Rabanes and
El Gran Silencio.
Since then, Klave has focused on playing
in more diverse venues and playing to larger audiences, aspiring
to increase there fan base. At this time Klave has a video "Hijo Macho" on
MTV en Espanol.
