At the tender age of 3, LIVE and his brother
were abandoned by their father, leaving the boys and their mother
to fend for themselves. After bouncing between motels and living
off the generosity of friend's, they finally found temporary
sanctuary in a local shelter home for abandoned women and
children. It wasn't long before their grandfather drove to Chicago,
where he picked them up and took them back to Jacksonville, North
Carolina where he resided. Eventually his family would move into
the government funded projects of where they would spend the
next 10 years of their life. But it was during this timeframe
that his love affair for Hip-Hop would be birthed. He began putting
on shows for friends/family and before long was doing full performances.
At age 11, Daniel entered his first talent show and placed 3rd.
A couple of months later he performed Digital Underground's, "The
Humptyance" and took 1st. LIVE continued entering shows,
and took home a couple more 1st place finishes. Performing over
the next couple of years he came to realize that he had a talent
for more than just dancing. He grew weary of performing other
musician's material and began writing his own lyrics. In 1991
LIVE met a rapper and friend called Noda/2. The two began making
music together and would spend hours writing rhymes.
It wasn't long before LIVE, shifted his focus from school to
music and would find himself dropping out in the beginning of
the 10th grade. Around this same time, "Noda2", would
have his first serious run-in with the law and was charged with
Grand theft auto, excessive speeding, and evading police. By
the 11th grade, Noda2 possessed a criminal record and would decide
to drop out of school himself.
The two rappers went their separate ways in life to meet up
again in 2004 to record their duo album "Long Time Coming" produced
by rapper producer Demon L. The album made its way from North
Carolina, to Canada and all the way to Texas.
Now LIVE is venturing out on his own making guest appearances
on mix tapes, local television, radio, and finally a new album.
His solo project is in process and he is now backed by his new
label. Maximus Music Records. The new project will feature musical
styles of street Hip Hop, Down South flows, club bangers and
a little Latin flavor similar to Reggaeton Hip Hop. Majority
of the tracks are provided by mega producer, Demon L of Maximus
Music Records in Greensboro NC. LIVE says versatility is the
key and hard work is the solution to being successful
