Bridging the gap between today's entertainment-driven youth and yesterday's family-oriented baby boomers are the retro yet modern sounds of the diversely talented Nicole Kehl. Nicole's voice punctuates the air with nostalgia for a simpler era of romance and unity. However, the ingenue promises more than just a wistful sentimental yearning to return to the past. Hailing from Salt Lake City, Utah - a revitalizing breath of fresh air is waiting to sweep the nation. A spectacular performer, Nicole's flare for dancing exhibits a variety of ballet, jazz, and tap skills acquired during her childhood years. Beginning with her performance debut with the teenage-girl group Forte, a passion to perform publicly began to smolder within. Nicole worked tirelessly to incorporate elements of hip-hop and other modern dance techniques into her catalogue of dance skills. In 2002, she broadened her performance repertoire by participating in a 12-show block with Forte, performing at the Winter Olympics held in Salt Lake City.
Nicole's style is an ecstatic/exciting/sassy/unique mix of POP and R&B with a vibe that is slightly reminiscent of the Disco era. This is largely due to her first experience as a lead singer in a more mature traveling band dubbed The Right Amount. From this journey, the young talent gained what she later determined to be just the right amount of retro R&B and Disco to influence her song for a lifetime. Perhaps her ability to play both the violin and piano played a major part in her appreciation for the musically mature musicians of the group. Being exposed to the live instrumentation as well as the timeless classics that The Right Amount covered had an undeniably positive impact on my first project. Her passion to reach the masses through her talents had now fully engulfed her spirit.
Co-writing her self-titled debut album, Nicole invites the youth and those young at heart to embark on a sensational music journey: dancing and grooving, reflecting, loving, and singing the whole way through. Powered by Andrew Lanes break-through production for the likes of Bad Boy's B-5, Keith Sweat, and TLC T-Boz, the album will exemplify live instrumentation and an eclectic musical mix. Also, featuring Mannie Fresh on Let's Groove Tonight, the album is bound to make you bounce and sway.
