Rob Van Winkle aka Vanilla Ice has seen
his share of ups and downs in his professional career. Vanilla
Ice exploded on the pop music scene in 1990 with his CD "To The Extreme" selling
over 17 million copies. His single "Ice Ice Baby" has
weathered well over the last 15 years and is a pop classic still
in great demand today.
Rob has recently been seen by TV audiences
in VH1's "Behind
the Music", "Celebrity Boxing", "Hollywood
Squares" and is fresh off appearing in the WB Reality TV
Show "Surreal Life". Vanilla Ice just finished taping
the VH1 program "Remaking of Vanilla Ice" which will
be scheduled to air May 2005 by the network. Rob also performed
concerts in Germany for a week and just filmed another Reality
Show "The Farm" (a highly rated TV show in Europe)
for 3 weeks in the UK.
Rob has starred in an independent film,
The Helix...Loaded, released in select theaters earlier this
year and the film will be picked up for DVD distribution and
cable television. His new album "Platinum Underground" has
just been recorded and mixed with release date and street date
in mid-August. The album includes a hot new VH1 single produced
by a very high profile production team, Track Starz (Chingy,
50 Cent, Gwen Stefani).
With great demand in concert and personal appearances, Vanilla
Ice has been playing dates in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Germany,
South East Asia and is planning to tour the UK and Europe in
the fall.
Vanilla Ice just flew to New York City
to appear on NBC's "Today
Show" to pitch NBC's "Hit Me Baby One More Time" in
which he will participate and be performing on the second episode
which will air June 9th. The iconic rapper/rocker is currently
enjoying making new music, appearing on TV shows, and plans to
do more movies and commercials. Just like the song that he is
performing on "Hit Me Baby One More Time" Rob's a "Survivor".
