MIKE ROBLES
Emmy Award Winning Comedian Voted “One of the top 10 Latino stand-up comedians in the country,” Emmy Award winner, Mike Robles is probably best known as the star and creator of Galavision’s two flagship shows, Video Mix, and Que Locos, which he also served as executive producer. Mike Robles also hosted, along with George Lopez, Loco Comedy Jam on Mun2, an innovative network which is a joint venture between NBC and Telemundo. This hysterical comedic variety show with Latin flare debuted December 1st 2002. Mike Robles is no stranger to television; in the 1990’s Mike Hosted and Executive Produced the cult-cable access show Comedy Rhumba, which aired on BRONXNET cable television and was the recipient of two Cable Ace award nominations for “Best Local Programming for Comedy/Variety Show.” The success of the television show led to Mike hosting “Comedy Rhumba Live,” a monthly SRO engagement at Caroline’s Comedy Club in New York City. This enormous popularity resulted in Mike hosting his own one-hour comedy/variety show Comedy Picante on Galavision. Mike Robles has created a loyal following that continues to grow. He has received many distinguished awards for his achievements in the Hispanic community, and has been praised by local politicians and entertainers for being a role model to young Latinos. The NY Daily News summed it up best “Not since Freddie Prinze’s reign has a Latino comic turned so many heads.”
He has received rave reviews for his stand up performance in the hit DVD, Latin Palooza. Mike Robles’ comedy also drew the attention of Globally renown, spiritual teacher, celebrity, and New York Times Best Selling author, Deepak Chropra, which lead to Mike performing before the World Alliance for a New Humanity forum in Cost Rica! Often described as the Latino P Diddy, and Desi Arnaz for both his talents as a performer and producer, Mike Robles continues to revolutionize the Latino Comedy World.
