Sonny Melendrez has hosted over 5,000 events around the globe in the past 30 years.

From Los Angeles to Paris, he has mastered the ceremonies at some of the most prestigious affairs in the world. These include emceeing charity galas at the Hollywood Bowl (with Barry Manilow), the Greek Theater (with Neil Diamond), and The Forum (with Bill Cosby) on the West Coast.

Sonny served as the official host of the Texas Lottery (5 years) presiding over a total of 37 Million Dollar live TV Giveaways in as many cities.

As San Antonio’s Ambassador of Good Will, he has hosted the premiere festivities of virtually every major event and venue in the Alamo City, including Sea World of Texas, Fiesta Texas, The Alamodome, The Sesquicentennial Celebration, Founders Day, and New Year’s Eve in Alamo Plaza (12 years). He presided over Fiesta Week as El Rey Feo (King of Fiesta) in 1990.

In the nation’s capital, he joined First Lady Nancy Reagan to co-host the National Just Say No Rally at the Washington Monument and has hosted the White House Hispanic Heritage Awards (7 times) in the nation’s capitol.

Internationally, Melendrez produced and hosted the 50th Anniversary Gala of the USO (United Service Organization) held at the Ambassador’s Palace in Paris with guest of honor Princess Grace of Monaco – the late Grace Kelly.
