Sergio was bom on January 20, 1968 in the city of Monterrey,
Nuevo Leon Mexico. At the age of 9, his restlessness for playing
the guitar began. He learned to play at the elementary school
band. He always alternated between sports and music.
In middle school, his attraction for the music grew for which
he left sports. In 1984 he began his first rock band at the age
of 15 and since rock in Monterrey was not very much accepted,
Sergio played at some underground events. In 1985 a new era emerge
the opening of Spanish rock and other styles that stirred up
the music world. He was a precursor of live music, clubs or bars
that initiated at that time, when Barrio Antiguo Monterrey was
in the area of Plaza Purisima. In 1986-1987, he participated
in a rock band call Montana (a group that was sponsor by Cigarrera
la Modema a company from that time).
In 1993, Sergio was a pioneer in the Spanish music raising the
local music in the beaches of Cancun, Quintana Roo, Playa del
Carmen, Cozumel, and Puerto Adventures. At that time mostly English
music was played for foreign tourists. At the present time Spanish
music primarily from Mexican bands is played.
In 1994, he played in Mexico D.F. in the chain of restaurant-bar
Freedon. In 1995 in Monterrey, he played in an original rock
project group Rue with Disa records and at the same time with
a Christian band called ADONAI and opened concerts for Martin
Valverde. Subsequently forming part ofMagia Negra as a drummer,
where he played in Bar OK in the city of Monterrey, as well as
the Barrio Antiguo and other cities like Laredo, Reynosa, Cd.
Victoria. The members of this band are currently playing with
group Amor and group Cactus.
He participated as a member of the team selecting music themes
for the publish company CERCA and was a consultant for some groups
in Monterrey. He participated in Robert's and Albert's band called
Los Pasos at the beginning of their career. Then there was a
moment in his life, before he got married, that he decided to
leave all musical environment with the idea of not returning
to the music world. A catholic movement, the Comunidades de Alianza,
changed his life. He was invited almost forced to participate
in a music ministry of that same community playing bass, guitar,
and drums. God touch his mind and heart and the idea of going
back in to the music environment was renewed. The idea of creating
music that promotes values, creating a social awareness, of courtesy,
of love, and of change by taking as an example the history and
image of Jesus.
In the year 2002, he records his first CD called Atrevete with
this he begins a series of concert. He played in the Barrio Antiguo
of Monterrey (Bar la Tumba and Cafe Paraiso), in some church
festivals, in television, charitable marathons, radio and etc.
He participated with the catholic church giving concerts in Cadereyta,
Topo Chico, Apodoca,San Nicolas de los Garza in Guadalupe in
the state of Nuevo Leon. He also served in the missionary team
of Fatima Church in San Pedro, Garza Garcia N.L.
In 2004 he records his second CD call Una Luz en lo Alto an
acoustic style. In 2005, he records the CD CREE with renowned
professional musicians that support Sergio's creative movement.
At this moment, Sergio finds himself giving concerts for youth
and adults. He participated with different catholic groups and
non-catholic groups in the city of San Antonio, TX. He also answers
the call of different cities of the United States and Mexico.
He continues walking towards new challenges...
