Rene Serrata y Los Buenos
Hacienda Records is proud to re-release another hit album, entitled “Tu Vestido Blanco”, with Rene Serreta! The top-hitting artist from the 80’s was born and raised in Robstown, TX and as a young boy; his first love was the accordion. In addition, Rene is a successful song writer/arranger and received numerous awards in the mid 80’s, 90’s, 2000 and continues his extensive career as a top notch professional Tejano musician.
Rene Serrata has such a solid fan base, his music needs no introduction, not counting all the experience he attained playing with groups such as Steve Jordan, Los Chachos, Tortilla Factory, and Oscar Hernandez, to name a few.
In 1979, Rene and Jesse signed with Hacienda Records and together with Rick Garcia, producer of Hacienda, created the hit albums, “Como Te Llamas Tu”, “El Regalo”, “Llegaste A Mi Vida”, and “En El Baile”.
In 1988, Rene scored big with his solo endeavor of “Tu Vestido Blanco” a song that was released in a post-vinyl and pre-CD era; Now, through the magic of digital re-mastering from the original master recording, this classic album sounds as crisp and sharp as the day it was recorded.
“Tu Vestido Blanco”, remains one of his most requested songs at Rene’s performances. Also featured in this CD are other big hits, such as “La Carta” and “Han Pasado Los Anos”.
Today, Rene is in high gear and recently Hacienda released his latest recording entitled “Que Sera De Mi”. Asked how he would describe his music, Serrata said, “I call it Chicano Tex-Mex, which I also use to describe the music created by the musicians who inspired me – Paulino Bernal, Manuel Solis, Oscar Hernandez and many others. Enjoy “Tu Vestido Blanco” and make it another one of your favorites.
Rene’s most recent release “Con Todo El Alma” is totally progressive Tex-Mex, with guest artist “Joe Revelez” on keyboards. “Matias Serrata” bajo-sexto/back-up vocals, “Rene Lopez” accordion, “Juan Medrano” guitar/vocals and “Pete Garza” drums. This combination of musicians make this new CD one of “Rene Serrate” best with more to come.
Rene was inducted to the Tejano Roots Hall of Fame in 2005. Be on the lookout for Rene Serrata y Los Buenos in a city near you soon!
